The Chronicles of the 4.5 Gang (also known as Sambhava Vivaranam Nalarasangham) is a Malayalam crime comedy web series set in the fictional city of Thiruvanchipuram, inspired by Thiruvananthapuram. It follows five childhood friends—Arikuttan, Kanji, Maniyan, Althaf, and Moonga (the "half" due to his dwarfism)—from a slum who dream of earning respect by sponsoring their local temple festival. Their ambitions lead them into petty crimes, escalating to involvement in the milk and flower mafias, guided by a corrupt police officer, SI Suresh. Narrated through flashbacks by Arikuttan to a writer, Maithreyan, in 2018, the story blends dark humor, action, and metafiction, exploring their chaotic rise in the criminal world, marked by small victories, heartbreaks, and betrayals. The series critiques societal neglect and power dynamics while maintaining an eccentric, non-linear narrative.
