Jai Kali Kalkattawali

Kalighat was the name of a Ghat (landing staging) that was sacred to Kali situated on the former route that flows through the Hooghly river (Bhagirathi) located in the town of Calcutta. The term Calcutta could originate from Kalighat. The river has over the course of time moved towards the temple. The temple now lies in the middle of a canal known as Adi Ganga which connects to the Hoogly. It is believed that the Adi Ganga was the original path of the Hoogly. Hoogly.
