The premiere show ‘Jamai Raja is the first episode that introduces viewers to the characters that make up the series. Siddharth Khurana meets Durgadevi when he returns to Mumbai. While Siddharth seems to be a cheerful guy Durgadevi is an ebullient woman, who appears to be overly attached to her position. Her daughter Roshni Patel is an someone who seems to be in an uneasy relation with her mom. Roshni together with her mother ‘Nani is at the airport in order to meet Durgadevi and her family, however Roshni becomes angry when her mother doesn’t make her wish for her birthday and instead criticizes her for not being dressed appropriately. Then, Siddharth enters Roshni’s car and drives her to a place that sells cotton candy. He purchases a cotton candy and wishes her the day of her birthday. When Roshni is stupefied, Siddharth walks away happy and puts a smile to her face. In the next episode, Durgadevi is adamant on unveiling her brand new jewelry collection at Roshni’s birthday celebration, however Roshni is visiting some children who contact her in a hurry.
