Ek Tha Raja Ek Thi Rani is the tale of the royal family of Ameerkot that is led by Rajmata and Rana Indravadhan Singh Deo (Siddhant Karnick). In order to recover from the loss of fortune that he has suffered by the family, Rajmata marries Gayatri Seth (Drashti Dhami) who is one of his daughters, who is the nation’s largest lender, Gopal Seth. The marriage not only creates an outrage, but it also creates a string of events that create drama within the Seth family as well as the Royal servants that cause the entire family to alter for the better. The heart of the tension is the relation between Ranaji and Gayatri, who are in love with his deceased wife and a typical, Gayatri who now discovers the fact that being the status of a Rani is not always an ending that is a fairytale.
